Sorry for being non-existent! Life got in the way. That's a thing that happens.

Am I still drawing? Not really. I doodle in my notebooks.
Am I still writing? Not really.
Am I still poetry-ing? Sometimes.

That being said, I pop on deviantArt now and again to check to see what my friends are up to, but don't expect to see a lot from me. Regrettably, music isn't something I can really post here, so...

In any case, if you want to see what I do on the internet, you can always check me out here:

Lock and Load

I noticed I haven't posted anything since June? Whoops! I'm alive, I promise.
I forget that a large number of people on dA don't follow me on Tumblr, which is where I post the bulk of my stuff.
...Well. Reblog...and by 'my stuff', I mean other people's stuff. Because Tumblr.

I'm now officially heading into my third year of university as a double major. I'll be gunning for a BMus in Voice Performance and a BA in Psychology. Pretty stoked about that. Also stoked about Sherlock. People on dA who don't follow me on Tumblr (or speak to me irl) don't know how much I love Sherlock. I love it a whole bunch. A whooooooooooooooole bunch.

I'm moving into a new place tomorrow, not sure what the internet situation will be like.

I wanted to end this with something an old prof of mine used to say, but now I can't remember what is it. @_@

Apparently, doing a music-intensive program wherein you have to tap into emotions (ew, gross.) to effectively perform art song just makes you really emotional about everything?

By getting in touch with emotions that are common in these songs (i.e., rage, envy, love, obsession, sentiment, nostalgia, fear, etc.), those feelings are much more accessible and closer to the surface. While you need those emotions to perform, it's very difficult to release it all during a performance. My music mostly concerns feelings of deep sorrow, love, or loss/isolation.

No wonder artists are such basket cases, amirite?

I'm fortunate that this program offers a 9:00am session on dealing with performance anxiety. I definitely do not suffer from that--I love performing--although the techniques they teach are therapeutic and largely transferable to other situations. It's like free counselling. Why the hell not?

This is good for my art and my career, although I'm not so sure it's good for me. Heh.

GOOD THING I'LL BE STUDYING PSYCH NEXT SEMESTER. Best way to establish equilibrium. Or something.

The 'F' Word.

I don't have the time to go into a long rant about it presently, but can I just say that I really think people need to know that feminism does not equal radical extremism? Feminism simply means the belief in equal rights for all genders-- and if you want to get into the technicalities of Feminism versus Equalism, I would gladly discuss it at another time.

But seriously. If you believe women should be treated with respect, you're a feminist before you go any further. It's really just as simple as that-- it's really what it comes down to. It doesn't mean you think men are pigs.

We really need to have open discussions about Feminism in today's society and *why* it's so important, especially when it concerns new and evolving concepts of sexuality. Guys. Important.

I'll return to this at another time, because there is so much going on on the subject.

...Also, this song. Kid's TV doing it right.
